Counselling
Seeking therapy is a sign of courage in the depths of conflict.
Counselling and psychotherapy are umbrella terms that cover a range of talking therapies. They are delivered by trained practitioners who work with people over a short or long term to help them bring about effective change or enhance their wellbeing. (BACP)
Counselling provides a regular time and space for clients to talk about their problems and stress and explore difficult feelings in a supportive, safe and non-judgemental environment that is confidential. I will respect the client’s viewpoint whilst helping them deal with specific problems, cope with crises, improve their relationships and develop a less stressful way of living. I do not offer advice, but instead help the client to gain insight and understanding into their behaviour and thought patterns.
I offer counselling to men, women, children, families and couples facing a wide range of personal issues and challenges. I place great value on the relationship between client and counsellor as this, in my experience, proves to be the most important factor in a successful outcome. I will offer you a safe, confidential, empathic and non-judgemental environment with space and time to explore your issues, fears and difficulties. Throughout the counselling process the focus will be on working through the issues and difficulties, with the aim of moving towards a more satisfying, fulfilling and contented life.
